Job Summary

The purpose of the Lilly Grant and Membership Director is to oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of membership tiers/programs to ensure alignment with organizational goals and meeting the needs of customers and stakeholders effectively. This leader will provide strategic direction, manage resources, and cultivate relationships to drive program success and increase impact. Initially, the Director's focus will be on pastors in the “Start Well” phase of their ministry, as this aligns with GuideStone’s application for the Lilly Endowment grant. They will oversee the relationship and reporting responsibilities with Lilly Endowment, Inc. pertaining to GuideStone’s proposed Lilly grant, with complete accountability for managing the membership program. The goal is to realize our vision of every servant of Christ finishing well, with potential for the membership opportunity to evolve into its own vertical operating unit.

 

Our ideal candidate will possess the ability to create structure and build a program from the ground up, developing strategies that deliver long-term vision and goals while balancing strategy with execution. The director will manage funds of up to $5 million, including budgeting, reporting, KPI monitoring, project management, and membership growth.

What You'll Do

Crafting Strategic Solutions: You'll be the architect behind innovative strategies for Lilly grant programs and memberships, ensuring they not only align with organizational objectives but also address diverse financial challenges with a tailored touch.

Evaluating Impactful Solutions: Dive deep into program effectiveness and impact assessment, constantly refining and enhancing strategies based on feedback and industry best practices, ensuring our initiatives remain at the forefront of innovation.

Mastering Resource Management: Navigate the complexities of program budgets and resources, including those allocated for the prestigious Lilly Endowment grant, ensuring every dollar spent delivers maximum impact and tangible outcomes.

Empowering Stakeholders: Take center stage as you present comprehensive reports and proposals to stakeholders and senior leadership, providing them with clear insights into the transformative power of Lilly grants and their impact on our mission.

Cultivating Creativity and Collaboration: Foster an environment of creativity and continuous learning, guiding cross-functional teams in generating and implementing groundbreaking ideas that push the boundaries of what's possible.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

  • 15+ years of progressively responsible experience, with proven leadership in project management and strategic decision-making required.

  • Strong understanding of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in financial services.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to senior audiences.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and GuideStone system applications, with a high level of confidentiality regarding business matters.

  • This position initially has no direct supervisory responsibilities but involves indirect leadership of cross-functional teams to drive organizational innovation efforts. Travel up to 10% annually may be required.
