Financial Director


Essential Duties and Responsibilities Key Performance Measurables:
1. Provide financial leadership.
2. Manage Finances
3. Maintain General Ledger
4. Track restricted donations and usage.
5. Provide support to the Executive Team.

Job Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership:
1. Stays abreast of all governmental policies and accounting regulations related to non-profits.
2. Works with the Executive Team in the development of annual budgets.
3. Develops and implements policies related to all financial matters.
4. Interacts with Board Treasurer on financial matters as requested.
5. Supervises Financial Department staff.

Manages Finances:
1. Prepares monthly financial statements.
2. Ensures compliance with Financial Manual.
3. Prepares and files all non-profit reporting requirements.
4. Reviews and approves all payrolls prior to submission.
5. Compiles documents for annual audit and works with auditors to complete the audit and file From 
990.

Maintains QuickBooks:
1.Monitors general ledger activity.
2.Reviews bank account reconciliations.
3.Prepares journal entries as needed.
4.Maintains accounting for fixed assets and depreciation.

Restricted Funds:
1.Acounts for all restricted donations and tracks usage.
2.Prepares reports on the use of restricted funds and their related balances.
3.Provides financial data needed to support grant request.

Executive Support:
1. Attends Executive Team meetings.
2. Provides analysis of financial data to support decision making.

 

Requirements

Qualifications
•  Has placed one's faith in Jesus and accepted Christ as one1s personal Savior. Believes that 
individuals can be reconciled and restored to God, their families and their communities without 
prejudice.
•  Bachelor's degree in accounting.
•  5+ years of accounting experience with increasing responsibility in a financial related field.
•  Knowledge and experience in preparing financial statements according to generally accepted 
accounting principles.
•  Experience in the non-profit sector.
•  Strong aptitude to learn new software quickly. Knowledge of QuickBooks a plus.
•  Must complete DHS (Department of Human Services) orientation training once provided.
•  Must pass DHS Background check.
