Job Description

Purpose: To effectively serve WCA staff by providing excellent administration of recruitment, onboarding and transitions, compensation and benefits, polices and records, staff events, performance plans, training and development, and culture initiatives so that all staff can be fully engaged, in step with the Spirit, and delivering results.

Primary Responsibilities:

• HR Policies, Procedures and Records. Ensure that all HR staff records (digital and paper) are accurate, up-to-date, and in compliance with legal (regulatory) requirements; update the HR Procedure Manual and Staff Manual as required to accurately reflect current practices; ensure that legally-required HR posters are posted
• Health Benefits and Open Enrollment. Maintain contact with insurance companies, broker and employees to facilitate complete utilization of benefits for all staff (includes tracking waiting periods and ceasing benefits as their status changes); Administer the roll-out of new benefits as well as assist in the preparation of the annual health and life insurance renewal/open enrollment process; Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims, and costs
• Payroll. Process bi-weekly payroll; Ensure proper documentation, validate deductions, process new/temp hires; Troubleshooting questions, coordinate out-of-state tax elections as needed, provide financial info to WCCC for benefit and life insurance processing; Process annual Total Rewards Statements; Participate in audits and requests for information as needed; Maintain payroll register reports and coordinate distribution of W-2's
• Retirement 403(b). Administer and track 403(b) enrollment, employee contributions, employer matching, and administration of online portal
• Staff Hiring and Transitions. Coordinate position request process with HR VP and hiring manager; work with coordinator to post jobs on WCA internet site, WCCC Job Connections site, and other appropriate websites; Manage tracking of and communication with applicants, process and screen inquiries and applications; Conduct interviews and assessments, reference and background checks; Administer on-boarding and off-boarding processes; Manage seasonal staffing process (summer intern program and post-Summit temps)
• Staff Events. Oversee and work with HR Coordinator to plan and coordinate staff events including monthly staff meetings, summer bags tournament, assist with Summit week food/snacks/drinks, Thanksgiving potluck, staff anniversary celebrations, Christmas party/serve, and other events
• Organizational Culture. Assist HR VP in the implementation of culture development initiatives; Ensure that fresh stories are communicated to WCA staff through appropriate means (i.e. email, WCA intranet, other) regarding WCA happenings, including the arrival of new staff
• Staff Performance Plans & Development. Assist in the implementation of the performance planning and development program

Job Requirements

Essential Job Knowledge:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of human resources experience
• Bachelor's degree in human resources or equivalent preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• 2-3 years' experience and comfort in processing payroll, Paycom knowledge a plus
• PHR certification a plus
• Passion for the vision and mission of WCA and staff

• Organized, detail/process-oriented, self-motivated and able to handle work independently

• An active member of a local church that holds to a historic, orthodox understanding of biblical Christianity.
