Job Description


 Quality Fence Company, a 50+ year old company based in Dallas, Texas, has an immediate opening for a company controller. Quality is experiencing rapid growth and management is positioning for future acquisitions. The right candidate will have a desire to make an impact in the overall performance of the company by implementing positive change in company procedure.

This position is responsible for accounting operations of the company, including periodic financial reports, development and maintenance of record system, a set of controls and budgets to manage risk, ensure accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and compliance with G.A.P requirements. Additional responsibilities include management of inventory reporting, cash management, and support staff.

Job Requirements

Primary Responsibilities:


-Development and maintenance of documented system of accounting and procedures

-Manage outsourced consultants

-Implement control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies/procedures


-Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner

-Ensure that all applicable discounts are taken on accounts payable

-Ensure that accounts receivables are collected

-Process payroll in a timely manner

-Process employee incentive plan benefits

-Ensure monthly bank reconciliations are completed

-Ensure required debt payments are made on a timely basis

-Maintain and develop the chart of accounts

-Maintain and develop record keeping and storage systems

-Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions


-Develop and produce monthly financial statements

-Coordinate the preparation of the company annual report

-Recommend benchmarks against which to measure performance of company operations

-Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics

-Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts

-Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management

-Provide for a system of management cost reports

-Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and market analysis


-Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit

-Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants

-Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

Preferred Qualifications:

The successful candidate should have a Bachelors degree in accounting or business administration, or have relevant business experience.
