Job Description


Summary: Meets all duties/requirements/responsibilities of the Qual ity Technician position description. Monitors and performs quality control inspections, checks and tests during the manufactur ing process.

Inspects parts, materials and product in varying stages of production. Records observations makes recommenda tions for improvement of work or processes. Accurately and timely produce related work as assigned by supervision. Engages a wide variety of Quality Assurance activities to achieve and ensure excellent quality and timely delivery of production jobs. Promote the products and services offered by HHC, Inc. through daily quality production of all work. Effectively and posi tively commun icate with management, employees, customers and vendors. Promote the long-term goals of HHC, Inc. Promote good working relationships and teamwork with all employees. Must be flexible and perform other duties not listed below to meet H HC lnc.'s changing needs.


Nature & Scope of Position:


  • Completes jobs as assigned by HHC, Inc. supervision.
    • Follows establ ished paperwork procedures to establish, maintain, track and complete jobs.
  • Develops, modify and follow Quality Procedures to maintain HHC, Inc. Qual ity and ISSO compliant standards
  • Recommends equipment and capita l improvements associated with maintaining and improving quality inspections.
  • Establ ish and maintain a Quality Management System (QMS) that includes Quality Department library of all pertinent SOPs, standards and guidelines
  • Write, review, and/or revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to Quality processes and systems, in order to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze M1 data/job analysis associated to production orders and highlight critical inspect ion criteria and measurement points.
  • Assists in paperwork revisions/changes/adjustments within M1 data base.
    • Actively participate and support third party & customer audits, Out of Specification (OOS) investigations, internal audits, change control, and deviations.
    • Participate in the daily production meeting
    • Participate in development engineering project meetings as required
    • Establish and update quality metrics and report resu lts as directed by Plant Management
    • Ensures accuracy and timely completion of work.
    • Determine best possible practices and uses good techniques and judgments in work assignments.
    • Utilizes proper measurement techniques and equipment in carrying out job duties.
      • Ensure all EHS rules, company pol icies and proper inspection procedures are followed.
      • Being aware of work in progress pre-planning to ensure delivery commitments are met.
        • Ensures work is completed so overtime is kept at a minimum.
        • Continuing and maintaining 5-S, Lean Manufacturing concepts in all areas of responsibility.
        • Responsible for processi ng jobs to ensure maximum production and to meet customer due dates.
        • Works with the Production Manager and coordinates work with other personnel and shift Lead Men.
        • Ensure work and quality manpower is scheduled to accommodate company work volume and plant coverage needs.
        • Assures proper parts management in assigned area.



  • Assists quality personnel regarding jobs to perform, work rate and quality of work.
  • Assists and ensure quality personnel complete job paperwork correctly.
    • Providing support and direction to Quality Inspectors and other employees to include problem identification and resolution.
    • Provide vendor support by communicating directly with vendors on parts.
    • Must be able to work independently, make decisions and judgment calls on personal work experience and in stressful situations.
    • Responsible for ensuring jobs meet Company quality standards.
    • Keeps track of rework. Make concerns/issues known to appropriate personnel. Give and seek input to reduce the amount of rework in their area.
    • Continually work to improve efficiency and quality.
    • Performs training of new Quality Inspectors in proper inspection techniques and procedures and ensures they are fully trained.
      • Responsible for ensuring departmental equipment is maintained and the measuring equipment is in proper operating condition and keeping the calibration settings current.
      • Responsible for maintaining proper documentation related to jobs Gob cards, prints, serial # logs, customer books, etc.).
      • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, etc. to determine customer requirements.
      • Communicate with customers, Sales and Customer Service personnel to clarify job requirements.
        • Report issues of a reportable nature to supervisors immediately.
        • Has knowledge and understands requirements for all aspects of the position.
        • Proficient use of computer and appropriate software applications.
        • Prepares reports for guidance of management.
        • Provides assistance to General Manager and Quality Engineer as needed.
        • Travel required as needed.
        • Comply with all HHC, Inc. policies and procedures including Environmental, Health and Safety rules.
          • Directs department employees in the completion of work assignments.
          • Keeps management informed and updated on jobs status and all other pertinent information.
          • Timely completions of assigned work.
          • Assure timely transfer of part(s) to next step in process.
          • Responsible for equipment set-up and to calibrate inspection equipment.
          • Works to ensure profitability of jobs and expenses are controlled.
          • Adheres to Company Confidentiality Agreement and/or Non-Disclosure Agreement.
          • Works with a high degree of integrity and honesty.
          • The ability to work required overtime with little advanced notice.
          • Completes all required company training to include annual recertification’s
          • Trains and monitors new employees as requested.
          • Completes evaluations on department employees.
          • Ensures all documentation is followed (Time sheets, department support log sheets, etc.
          • Other tasks assigned.


Job Requirements




Education/Experience: Requires a high school diploma, Associates or Bachelor Degree preferred or the equivalent and 2 year experience in industrial hard chrome plating or machining.

Language Ability: Ability to communicate in English/Spanish preferred, ability to  read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: Proficient computer skills required







 Communication Skill: Senior Technicians are required to have strong analytical and communication   skills.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Talk and hear (in person, via telephone and radio). Sit, stand, walk for long periods at a time. Reach with hands and arms (e.g. operation of tools and equipment; various labor tasks). Use of vision to see close, distance, color, peripherally, depth perception, and/or ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses, during day and night time

hours, as well as in various environmental conditions (e.g., fog, snow, rain, etc.).
