Job Description

 

Summary: To accurately and timely produce, grind and machine a wide variety and range of customer parts or jobs as assigned by supervision. Promote the-products and services offered by HHC, Inc. through daily quality production of all HHC, Inc., customers. Effectively and positively communicate with customers. Promote the long-term goals of HHC, Inc. Promote good working relationships and teamwork with all employees. Must be flexible and perform other duties not listed below to meet HHC Inc.'s changing needs.

 

Nature & Scope of Position:

 

  • Completes jobs as assigned by HHC, Inc. supervision.
    • Inspects parts to be processed.
      • Follows established paperwork procedures to establish, maintain, track and complete jobs.
  • Assures accuracy of work as directed and information listed on job cards.
  • Performs all required milling, cutting, turning, and grinding to ensure all work is within specified tolerances. Operates horizontal saw and sharpens tools as needed. Reads detailed blueprints accurately.
    • Operates the following tools and equipment effectively and safely: Fork Lifts, Pallet Jacks, Overhead Cranes, Manual Lathes, Manual Grinders, Electric and Air Hand/Power Tools
    • Determine best possible practices, tool selection and uses good techniques and judgments in work assignments.
    • Parts preparation, clean up and polishing prior to and after machining process.
      • Balances and welds as assigned.
      • Assure timely transfer of part(s) to next step in process.
      • Responsible for equipment set-up and to calibrate inspection equipment.
        • Requires a basic understanding of plating and quality control.
        • Ability to read blue prints and use accurate measuring devises (micrometers, calipers, etc...)
          • Ability to estimate time and materials for accurate quoting practices.
            • Report equipment maintenance issues to supervisors immediately.
          • Perform planned and unplanned maintenance on tools and equipment/machinery.
          • Good understanding and operation of all plant equipment.
          • Diagnostic and repair of minor failures of equipment.
          • Complete on-site applications as required.
          • Application of current materials as well as development of new products and applications as technology advances.
            • Trains and monitors new employees as requested.
              • Comply with all HHC, Inc. policies and procedures including Safety rules.
              • Other tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

 

Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED required, I year Vocational technical Education preferred, minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience.

 

Language Ability: Ability to read blue prints, comprehend simple instructions and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

 

Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference and volume.

 

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills required.

Noise Level: Usually moderate to loud (work sites and equipment). Taste and Smell (as safety precaution while at work site). Exposure to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes and airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, vibration, flammable/combustible/explosive materials, biological hazards, extreme heat and cold, wet or humid conditions.
