Job Description

Part-time, Hourly, 20-25 hours/week

Wheaton Bible Church is looking for the next Human Resources Associate who will assist the HR Manager in serving the church and the church staff in order to ensure best practices, provide support in the staffing process, and perform human resources duties with a high level of confidentiality. By extending hospitality to the staff of Wheaton Bible Church and utilizing his or her gift of administration, the HR Associate will partner with us in our mission to see more and more people love God, grow together, and reach the world.

Responsibilities

  1. Recruiting & Hiring
    1. Coordinate the applicant tracking database (Newton), assisting in the development of job descriptions, posting open positions, and responding to applicants.
    2. Schedule and participate in interviews.
    3. Communicate with hiring managers in the recruiting process for feedback and completing reference checks.
    4. Assist with onboarding employees. Create new hire files, complete New Staff Checklist, ensure paperwork is completed, and coordinate and participate in New Staff Orientation.
  2. Handle HR Administration and Projects
    1. Job Descriptions/Postings: Work with staff to ensure job descriptions are current and organized.
    2. Personnel Files: Organize and maintain employee files.
    3. Background Checks/Child Protection: Complete and maintain staff background checks and assist with Protection Policies process.
  3. Assist with HR Management System (Paycor)
    1. Assist in the organization, maintenance, and ongoing process of Paycor HR modules.
    2. Assist Payroll Administrator as assigned.
  4. Perform other projects and duties as needed.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  2. One to three years of experience in Human Resources preferred.
  3. Gifts in administration and helps.
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; relational and a good listener; good judgment and discernment.
  5. Highly organized, with the ability to take the initiative in project-based work and manage multiple priorities.
  6. Ability to think proactively and creatively about responsibilities.
  7. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  8. Willingness to become a regular attender of Wheaton Bible Church preferred but not required.
  1. Acceptance and agreement with WBC Statement of Doctrine and Faith and WBC Statement of Christian Lifestyle.
